Historic event

In July this year Peter B Sands, Trustee of the ISCP was appointed Senator for A period of one month. Following which the Irish Senior Citizens Parliament held their monthly Executive Committee meeting in Leinster House.

The Irish Senior Citizens Parliament welcomes the appointment of Minister Máire Hoctor as Minister for State for Older People

 

We congratulate Minister Hoctor on her appointment and look forward to working closely with her to advance the position of Older People in Irish Society. Much needs to be done and we are ready and willing to contribute in any way we can. Through our 100,000 members we are represented in all corners of Ireland.   We look forward to being involved in many of the new initiatives and in particular in the development of the National Positive Ageing Strategy which was a commitment under Towards 2016. We are ready to help to assist Minister Hoctor in her endeavours and we wish her well for the future.
